I didn't appreciate having to stand around for a good few hours setting an alliance group to explore JQ, and I'm sure other won't either.

it never get's played in reality anyway. Last time I was there my alliance set up the 2 teams so people could map it, there were only about 3 people that got in that weren't alliance & after we told them we was there for mapping, they decided to be dicks about it & kill the people mapping.
Face it, since luxons seem to be too scared to play JQ cause "they don't have the advantage" the only way it does see action is in the above situation.

I did, 3 times, not that big of a deal.

Something I would like to see though is the addition of a NPC at each mission outpost in Prophecies that lets people go into an explorable area version of those missions. Those NPCs would only allow you to go in after completing the mission of course. It would be a good way to add in more quests and add in places where the "new weapons" can be dropped.

I agree with that, I have done both places no problems with a few people from here, its just a matter of patience some days to get a group.

And prophecies is a great place that could only be made even more so if the explorable areas were added, i can imagine not everyone would like this but i personaly dont really see the downside to be honest? more content is what peole are always asking about...

Luxons in JQ are typically made up of two people:

1. Mappers.
2. People who play FA.

Mappers obviously don't help the team, so we'll refrain from associating the players there that also play the real game and map as "mappers". Past that, you're stuck with people that have an almost entirely limited PvP experience, and so they bring builds and logic that doesn't work for the arena. JQ isn't like FA, it's more like AB. I tell people that, and they still don't seem to get the picture.

This is a great idea for cartography reasons, but it goes beyond that. I would love the opportunity to become more familiar with some of the pvp maps without actually pvp'ing on them.

I know this goes beyond the OP's request, but I would love to see a pve practice option for all maps. We have the ability to become familiar with most of the RA/TA maps thru the Zaishen arena, but not the HA, Hero battles, AB, JQ or FA maps.

It would be nice to add a pve only option to the JQ/FA outposts. When selecting this option, your party is taken into the battle and all the other player slots are filled with a variety of NPC Henchmen. This option should reward no experience or faction. It's for practice only. Add the same option in HA, AB and hero battles outposts again with no faction rewards.

LOL, a while back I saw a fame farming service offered that specified you must be rank 3+, have vent and be intimately familiar with all the maps you can encounter in HA. If I had all that I wouldn't need a fame farming service.

Everything said here by Mithran and Co. about ways to improve the game and to solve this retarded problem of certain retarded concepts from anet would improve the general fun factor and gameplay of the whole game

/Signed. My opinion has shifted.

The cartographers won't be making any decent contribution to the team and only waste space in the place. As if JQ isn't dead anyway?

You can max out the tittle without going to this area. It's not a requirement! It helps but not require!

There have been several times i have joined a group for JQ, but there has ALWAYS been that 1 person that thinks its just funny to mess up everyones nightmare and decides to kill you. I think its a great idea to open those places up for cartography if for no other reason then to avoid the hastle of having to try over and over and over because of some idiot. Yea, you could stop to battle him, but thats just a waste of time and thats not what the "majority" of the people are there for anyway.

I think it's time I raised the question of why you guys are going into PvP with a PvE mindset.

Mappers wouldn't have so much trouble, I think, if they brought builds appropriate for the arena, and then did mapping as an additional objective.

/signed - sure, you can get max without it. I went into one of these areas for the sole purpose of mapping. A lot of others did too I noticed. This will let those who play not get all QQ cause people are mapping and don't care about PvP at all.

But we ALL know Anet won't implement it anyways.

You have no idea how precise maping has to be then. You can't kite while grinding along the edge of a wall.

while they are fixing this, they should also increase the incentive to play JQ to get an active crowd using it as well....

Put it this way. It's in a PvE area which gives some extra %'s to your cartographer title.

But I fail to see how you're supposed to wallhug, and make things go boom / stay alive...

Use Texmod and a good build. Kill/evade your enemy, and then continue as planned. If you can't beat them, map it later.

Snares are good too, if you need to run away.

I'd recommend outright doubling the amount of faction you get from playing and winning. Hell, even if they posted that as a fake update, it might catch the eyes of enough people to bring some activity to it.

On a side note, another question I'd like to raise is why nobody ever complains about not being able to map FA. If it were the same case as I see in JQ, you'd have people entering the mission, going through the area not helping the team, and then leave, which I don't believe I've ever encountered. The only explanation to me is that people enter with the mindset that they can play the game too, and so they bring an actual build instead of just something to run with. People in JQ just don't do that. Mappers want to get in, get their points, and get out, and I don't think that's fair.
